If you’re like us, you order out at least once a week, and agreeing on a restaurant is always a little painful. Sushi? Nah. Noodles? Nah. Burgers? Nah. Tacos? Uuuuuuugh.
But now, thanks to DoorDash, you can start your dinner debate on some common ground. Equality? Mmmmm. Opportunity? That sounds delicious!
This week—that kicked off with International Women’s Day—DoorDash launched a new in-app feature that helps consumers discover and champion independent women-owned businesses and entrepreneurs. Yes, you can search for restaurants that are owned, run and led by women.
The truth is tough to swallow: Businesses in Canada led by women are taking twice as long to recover from the economic downfalls brought on by COVID-19 compared to those owned by men.
But here’s a good fact: everybody eats. So send your dinner dollars in a female direction, and let’s help a few moms, sisters and wives keep their dreams afloat.
