Healthy, meet delicious. Richa makes sugar-free organic sauces that everyone loves—starting with her own family, and ending up on shelves at Costco, Whole Foods, Walmart and Loblaws. When Richa’s passion project hit a national nerve, she scaled up beautifully and stayed true to her values.
Let’s find out where those come from.
1. What's your origin story?I started with two questions: How could I make healthy food taste great, and how could it change the world?
I grew up in a family where my mum cooked fresh food three times a day. So even just grabbing a pizza for dinner, as a working mom, I had so much guilt over not being able to cook healthy food for my kids. Anything that my mother did for me was the best, and that was what I wanted to do for my own child.
I launched Good Food for Good to make a difference through food. For me, this was an answer to my quest for purpose. My love for cooking led me to develop food that makes it easy for people to live healthier lives—loaded with whole food nutrients and delightful flavour.
2. What does your daily routine look like—and how much sleep do you get?
6 to 8 hours. I start work at around 8am and finish by 4pm, so I get enough time to spend with my family and for myself. I do yoga or meditation for 1 hour daily.
3. Best advice you've ever been given.
“No” is just "not now,” so don't give up.
4. What inspires you and keeps you motivated?
The opportunity to make a difference through our food.
5. How do you celebrate a really big win?
A bottle of bubbly with my friends and family.
6. What three other people are on your dream Zoom call?
Oprah Winfrey, Blake Mycoskie and Yvon Chouinard.
7. In another life, you’d be a…
Teacher. They have so much power to mold the future.
